Sporting our new leotards and for the first time in this competition, entering gymnasts in all age groups under 7s, Under 9s under 12s and over 12s right up to 17 yearolds!
Our most successful gymnast was 11 year old Delphie Merrill, (above, holding up her Overall Champion's Trophy). Delphie was first on 'Trampette', first on 'Vault' and only missed being first on 'Floor' when the judges decided only one walkover was allowed in the routine and as Delphie had both a forward and a backward walkover in hers one would be discounted leaving her one move short in her choreography. Despite the serious deductions this would have incurred, she was still managed 3rd place gaining the bronze medal which, with her other two gold medals, made her the Under 12s Pre-levels Overall Champion.

Poppy Callow joined Delphie on the rostrum to accept a Bronze for 'Vault.
The under 9 S.T.A.G.S. Wednesday girls, for all but one of them, their first external competition. They are a brave and industrious group and it would have been difficult to predict who might shine on the day. In fact, they all did well, in a tough competitive group including competing against gymnasts from the home club, Baskervilles but step into the limelight quiet, hardworking, Lucy Acott.
Lucy, whose calm approach to the task and elegance and precision in execution, gained her 2nd place and a silver medal on 'trampette' (above left) and an excellent 3rd place and bronze medal on 'floor' (above right).
This was enough to propel her into 2nd place Overall in the Under 9 Pre-levels Competition, where she was joined, in the top six, by Lorna, 5th and Sengul 6th (left).
